FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions;

Q: What injectors are compatible JACOBS molds?
A: My injection opening is tapered and will accept any of the 5/8" diameter injector nozzles.

Q: What is your warranty / return policy?

A:    Please see our store policy page. Store Policies

Q: How safe is injecting baits?
A:  Extreme caution should taken when injecting baits. The plastic is normally 340 degrees or hotter and can cause serious burns. A long sleeve shirt, proper gloves, face protection and common sense are a must. The Internet has a wealth of information on injecting and hand pouring baits and you should thoroughly educate yourself before starting.
JACOBS MOLD & MACHINE does not accept any responsibility for your safety.

Q: How are your molds made?
A: All of the molds are CNC machined out of 6061 T6 aluminum flat stock.  The mold halves are joined with 10-32 stainless steel screws and steel dowel pins. C-clamps may also be use to fasten the mold halves together but the clamp should be positioned near the center of the mold. Large molds may require several clamps. Some molds may have a slight bow in center section due to fixturing during machining and stresses in the aluminum. This is why proper clamp placement is critical.

Q: Do you make custom molds?
A: Sometimes, depending on my workload.  But every request is considered.
If I agree to make a new mold for any customer it will more than likely be offered on this site to everyone. An exclusive mold made for a single customer is usually not feasible and the cost would be at least 3-4 times higher than a mold offered to everyone. The price on the listed molds generally does not reflect the countless hours of design and programming time involved in creating a new mold.
JACOBS MOLD & MACHINE will not knowingly copy any existing bait design.

Q: When will my order ship?

A: We make every attempt to ship orders within 1-2 business days. Large orders may take longer. We keep very few molds in stock and most are made when ordered. There are times when our work load is heavy and shipments may be delayed a few days. If for some unknown reason your order is not shipped within a week, an email will be sent to you to inform you of the situation.
Injection presses are built when ordered and the build time is 1-6 weeks.

Q: How can I view the status of my order?

A: Go to the Customer Service, Account Information page. This page lists all your orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view.

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. However, final shipping costs will be displayed on the invoice you see before confirming your order.
